 Transformer Test Bench for SC/OC Test, HV Test, and DVDF Test 

We are manufacture of Transformer Test Bench for above tests for any range of transformer up to 10MVA i.e. for Distribution and Power transformer.

These test benches are well designed and available with all the technical information and most economical. We are always ready to reply technical query of customer and will provide after sale service.

Design Consideration

Take an example of test bench for 5MVA transformer. Its full load current is about 262.5A at 11KV, 131.25A at 22KV and 87.5A at 33KV rating.

So we will require Booster Transformer which can supply above current. Taking maximum % impedance 7% it will require Booster of rating 770V P-P for 11KV or 1520V P-P for 22KV and 2290 for 33KV.

Power Factor of transformer under test is is the range of 0.06, so at full load power drawn is √3×770×262×0.06 = 21KW

We cannot afford to draw 262A from the source at it is unnecessary and will create problems for stability and dropping of voltage.

For full load current to meet this requirement, test bench should not draw more than following i.e. at power factor of 0.8

√3×415×I×0.8 = 21KW

I=21000/575 =36A

Hence we have to introduce capacitors first after variac for full load current test. Required rating is 50A but at the most we can have variac of 100A rating taking all the categories into account and remaining current i.e.  262A-40A=222A can be supplied by capacitor bank introduced in between.

Similarly we can reduce requirement of variac current for HV test and DVDF test.

System is fully build up with the contactors and provide inter-locking and protection such as:

1)                   When one type of test OC/SC or HV or DVDF is being carried out for other test will be cut automatically and will be indicate on panel.

2)                   For operation of motor generator set will be tripped when current exceed from the prescribe limit.

3)                   For HV testing customer can test current limit on the panel and circuit will be tripped when current exceed.

4)                   Emergency switch is provided for emergency stopping supply. Moreover incoming  MCCB will take case of tripping.
